How to use it

Work on dry skin, never wet. Start with the coarse roller on the thickest part of the heel, then swap to the fine roller to finish the edges. Let the roller do the work — pressing harder does not remove more.

What comes in the box

The Silk 3 Pro handset, a fine roller, a coarse roller, a roller cover, a USB charging cable, a cleaning brush and the instructions.

Delivery and returns

Standing up without bracing for it.

It is the first step out of bed that tells you. You put your weight down, the skin pulls where it has split, and there is a sharp second before you take the next one. By the end of a long day on hard floors it is not sharp any more, just there, a dull ache under the back of your foot that you have long since stopped mentioning to anyone.

It catches as well. On the sheet at night. On a sock. And you have moisturised it, soaked it, taped it and worn socks to bed, and none of it touches the part that actually hurts, because the part that hurts is thick and hard and sits underneath everything you keep putting on top of it. So you shift your weight onto the outside of your foot without really deciding to, and you carry on.

Imagine instead a few quiet minutes on the edge of the bath, a roller moving steadily over that hard ridge, and the thickness coming away as dust onto the towel. Then the next morning, putting your foot flat on the floor and standing straight up, because there is nothing left there to press on.

SOLEA Silk 3 Pro is designed for exactly that.

Why the thing that hurts is the part nothing else reaches

What you are standing on is not surface dryness. It is a thick, compacted plate of hard skin, and it does not flex the way the skin around it does.

SOLEA Silk 3 Pro with its fine and coarse rollers

That is why it splits. The soft skin either side of the ridge moves when you put weight on your heel and the hard plate does not, so the join between them is where it gives. Moisturiser goes on top of the plate. Socks and tape hold it together. Neither takes the plate away, which is why neither stops it happening again.

Filing it is the obvious answer and it is where most people get hurt. A blade on a curved heel cannot hold even contact, so it takes too much from one spot and none from the next, and the moment it reaches live skin you feel it.

The Silk 3 Pro rolls instead of cutting. A mineral roller spinning at around 2,000 RPM takes the hard plate down layer by layer while gliding over the softer skin beside it, so the thickness comes off and the part you actually stand on goes with it.

How you use it

SOLEA Silk 3 Pro box and handset
1

Start with the coarse roller

Put it on the thickest part of the heel first — the ridge you can feel with a thumb. That is the part carrying your weight.

2

Work it flat, then feather the edges

Take the plate down until the heel feels level rather than stepped, then swap to the fine roller and blend where the hard skin meets the soft.

3

Keep on top of it

A short pass every couple of weeks stops the plate rebuilding to the thickness that started splitting in the first place.

Why this one and not another foot file

The ridge, not the surface

It takes down the thick plate you are standing on rather than softening the skin on top of it.

Nothing to press hard on

The roller glides over soft skin and abrades the hard part, so you are not leaning into a blade to make progress.

A few minutes, every couple of weeks

Short, regular passes keep the plate from building back to the thickness that splits.

What it does, and what it does not

What it will do

  • Take the thick, hard plate off the heel so there is nothing raised left to stand on
  • Work on dry skin, in a few minutes, without soaking or taping
  • Reach the edges and the ball of the foot, not just the flat of the heel
  • Keep the buildup down with a short pass every couple of weeks

What it will not do

  • Relieve, treat or cure any medical condition — it removes hard skin, nothing more
  • Be used on an open split, a wound, or skin that is painful to touch. Let those heal first
  • Be suitable if you have reduced sensation in your feet or have been told to leave your own foot care to a professional — ask them first
  • Stop hard skin returning permanently; it rebuilds and needs another pass

We are a new brand, so there are no star ratings, customer counts or study percentages anywhere on this page — we have not earned them yet. What is here is what the tool physically does, and a 100-day refund if it does not do it for you.

Questions people ask before buying

Will it help if my heels are cracked?

It removes the thick hard skin around a crack, which is the part that pulls the split open when you put weight on it. It is not a treatment and it must not be used on an open split — let that close first.

Does it hurt to use?

It should not. There is no blade. The roller works on the hard dead layer and glides over softer skin. If you feel it, stop — you have reached live skin.

I am on my feet all day. How often?

A short pass every couple of weeks is enough for most people. The point is to keep the plate from rebuilding rather than to strip it once.

How long do the rollers last?

Around three hours of use each; the two in the box last most people several months.

Is this a medical device?

No. It is a grooming tool that removes hard skin. If you have diabetes, reduced sensation in your feet, or have been told to leave foot care to a professional, speak to them before using anything like this.
