Calcium and magnesium crystallise when they meet hot water; both minerals are naturally present in groundwater.

What separates it from most budget alternatives is that IRIS puts tested filter technology, quality media
and a stated service interval into one complete shower system. Copies and cheap cartridges rarely filter
much of anything. Every IRIS carries a three-year product warranty and a support team you can email.
Does IRIS remove limescale and soften the water?+
Calcium and magnesium are natural minerals and are not bad in themselves. The trouble starts
when mineral-rich water is heated in the shower and those minerals crystallise into hard deposits that
fasten on to skin, hair and the shower screen. IRIS is not a traditional water softener and does not strip
the calcium and magnesium out. Instead its filter formula uses activated carbon together with
scale-controlling media to reduce how readily the minerals crystallise and take hold. That is why the water
can feel softer on skin and hair, while the cartridge also reduces chlorine, iron, copper and lead.
Will IRIS fit my shower?+
Yes. IRIS is built for standard connections and fits every ordinary shower hose. You simply
unscrew the head you have and screw IRIS on to the same hose.
How fast will I notice a difference?+
Many people notice the difference in the feel of the shower straight away. For skin and hair

How often do I need to change the filter?+
The cartridge has stopped doing its job after 8,000 to 10,000 litres. A household of three
should change it at least once every three months. For two people, every three to four months. For one
