Calcium and magnesium are natural minerals and are not bad in themselves. The trouble starts when mineral-rich water is heated in the shower and those minerals crystallise into hard deposits that fasten on to skin, hair and the shower screen. IRIS is not a traditional water softener and does not strip the calcium and magnesium out.
